My daughter, Marley, and I created a fun, endearing story about a T-Rex named Roara. Roara and her friends will take your child on adventures of the imagination. In our quest to create a wonderful children’s book, we’re learning so much! Our story started when my daughter was two years old. She has always loved dinosaurs, books, and all sorts of scientific activities. She’s active in the decision making every step of the way. Check out more about her in this video. This story is for her, and for all children (and their parents!) who love reading, learning, and dinosaurs. Read on to learn about our journey along the way.

Oct. 2014 – The journey begins

My two year old daughter and I love finding new things to do. We travel, do science, play games, and read. Ever since she was introduced to dinosaurs she’s loved them. She loves visiting museums, watching shows, and reading books featuring dinosaurs, among other things. Somewhere in the mix of all of this, I got the idea to create our own stories, and what better topic than dinosaurs. I’ve been developing mobile apps and games since 2011 and thought this could be a fun, new thing to do with her. She has taken an active role in the project and is excited to be involved in every decision, picking her favorite dinosaurs, artwork, even how the story itself.

Nov. 5, 2014 – Interviews

I’m a programmer and my daughter is still perfecting her penmanship and artistic creativity, so we needed some help to put all of this together. We began interviewing and gathering samples for writers and artists for Roara’s story. This has been a learning experience in itself! I’ve worked with writers and designers in the past, but my daughter has particular tastes, so we need the perfect creative people with us in this venture!
